Bear Stuck in a Tree in Richfield

On Nov. 15, the city of Richfield had an unexpected visitor when a bear was found sitting in a tree. It was spotted around 7 a.m. in a tree near 300 South 100 East.

According to reports, police used dogs to keep the bear in the tree while they waited for the Division of Wildlife Resources to arrive. The bear was tranquilized and lowered from the tree, and by 10:30 a.m. she was being relocated. Richfield Police Chief Trent Lloyd shared he hopes it will be a long time until another bear visits Richfield.
