Assault Charge Against Former Utah Farm Bureau President Dropped

(Weber County, UT) — An assault charge against former Utah Farm Bureau Federation president Ron Gibson has been dropped. Early last month, Gibson was arrested and booked into jail for allegedly back-handing an employee following an argument about pay. He took a leave of absence from his position following the incident, and later resigned from both the Utah Farm Board and the American Farm Bureau Federation. The misdemeanor charge was dismissed last week without prejudice, meaning the charge could potentially be re-filed in the future. The reason for the dismissal has not been announced.
