(Moab, UT) — Officials at Arches National Park say overwhelming demand was responsible for a decision to cut off entry to the park early yesterday. Cars lined the road leading into the park yesterday, and managers took to social media around 10 a.m. to tell visitors that they would not be able to enter until later in the day. Yesterday was the first holiday at the park since it ended its test of a timed entry program meant to prevent overcrowding. Park officials are currently reviewing data from the test and could put the program back in place next year.
