LEHI, Utah (AP) — City leaders in Lehi are warning residents they could be fined if they don’t adhere to new drought restrictions that prohibit watering lawns on consecutive days. KUTV-TV reported Tuesday that Lehi public works director Dave Norman says residents who violate the order will be given a verbal warning the first time, but would face a fine of up to $100 for the second violation and up to $500 for the third. Nearly all of Utah is in extreme drought. Gov. Spencer Cox has issued a state of emergency and recommended cities and counties consider watering restrictions.
