More than 400 motorcycles will drive through Richfield today in conjunction with the American Legion Legacy Run. The riders started in Dodge, Kansas and are making their way to Reno, Nevada.

An event today- hosted by the Monroe American Legion- at the Richfield City Cemetery, will honor veterans and those lost in war, including Elliott Dean Larson.

Mayor David Ogden says the 30-minute ceremony will be worth the time for all who come.

“And it will be very special and it will be really help us to appreciate our american heritage and those who fought to protect our American freedoms,” Mayor Ogden says.

The ceremony begins at 6pm tonight. Mayor Ogden suggests parking just outside the cemetery.
