Affordable Housing Bill Moves Forward In Utah House

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill seeking to spend more state money on building affordable housing is advancing in the Utah House. State Representative Steve Waldrip is sponsoring House Bill 462, which seeks to provide incentives to developers. The bill would set aside 50-million dollars to help finance projects that build tax-credit housing, and another 50-million would go to the rural housing fund for development loans. A House committee approved the measure yesterday, sending it to the floor for consideration.
