A passenger car crashed with a garbage truck on US-89 Friday afternoon. The crash occurred near the Lake Palisades State Park turn-off. Lanes in both directions were closed while one driver was transported to the hospital in a helicopter.

All lanes are now open in the area.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
