61 year old woman arrested after speeding through central Utah

A 61 year old woman was taken into police custody for failing to stop for law enforcement while speeding down Interstate 15.

A Utah Highway Patrol trooper spotted Louise Locke in a silver Ford Mustang traveling over 120 mph southbound on I-15 in the evening of July 21. While attempting to catch up to the Mustang, the trooper contacted the Millard County Sheriff’s Office to inform them of the situation. Troopers caught up to the vehicle just south of Fillmore and initiated a pursuit.

Troopers decided to terminate the pursuit upon entering a construction zone and the vehicles information was passed on to local dispatchers. The vehicle was later spotted traveling 120 miles per hour by a Beaver County deputy. It then exited the freeway in Beaver and entered a Wendy’s drive thru.

The Beaver County deputy followed the vehicle and took Locke into custody. The woman reportedly acknowledged that she saw law enforcement vehicles behind her, “but thought that they were giving her the go ahead to continue traveling southbound.”
