SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a miner has died in central Utah after a flash flood swept him away. The flooding Sunday night came as heavy rains fell across the state, causing mudslides that left many cities cleaning up the mess on Monday. A wall of water and debris came barreling into a canyon near the Gentry Mountain Mine and swept away several crews including the man who died. Another miner swept away survived after he was able to grab a tree as he was carried downstream. Elsewhere in the state, streets turned into torrents of rainwater and flooded parts of Sat Lake City and Tooele, surrounding cars and prompting warnings for people to get inside.
