Trump Again Addresses Media During White House Briefing

WASHINGTON-Thursday, United States president Donald Trump reiterated the importance of the 30 days to slow the spread of COVID-19 as he addressed the media during the daily White House briefing.

Trump ensured that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid will always be protected under federal regulations.

Trump also carried a document confirming that he had tested negative for the coronavirus.

Administrator of Small Business Administration Jovita Carranza, in speaking of the economy, assured the press that “we care about every small business.”

She especially lauded small businesses, saying “we want businesses to stay intact as  “they represent half the GP.”

United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin reminded businesses that after COVID-19 and the nation reopens, in effect, that through loans that will turn into grants, employees can be hired back.

Mnuchin stated that the White House wants employers to have businesses that they can reopen.

Mnuchin also confirmed that $1,200 worth of coronavirus relief checks will be deposited within two weeks.

In speaking further of economics, Mnuchin said “the economic impact payments–[I] previously said this would take us three weeks.” Mnuchin said he is pleased to report that within two weeks “the first payments will be directly deposited into taxpayers’ accounts.”

The senior adviser to Trump, Jared Kushner expressed his confidence by “bringing innovative solutions to these problems,” speaking of issues relating to the economy caused by COVID-19.

Vice director for Logistics, Rear Admiral John Polowczyk said he has “skin in the game” and will do whatever he can to assist health workers.

Coronavirus response task force coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx, then spoke for several moments, reiterating the need for all Americans to work together to combat this virus.

She cited places such as New York and New Jersey as being hot zones, but she said that it’s promising that there are a low rate of positive cases in states that are not hot zones, such as Utah.

The Beehive State has maintained a 5 percent positive test rate for the past five or six days, per Utah state epidemiologist Angela Dunn.

Birx says the positive tests for COVID-19 closely correlate the number of tests that are occurring.

Vice president Mike Pence stressed the importance of Americans not having to worry about the costs of COVID-19 tests or treatment, saying that Medicare will cover the financial burdens if necessary.

Trump and the coronavirus task force will again address the media Friday.
