CEDAR CITY, Utah-Following recommendations from the Big Sky Conference, all athletics events at Southern Utah University have been suspended per a Thursday evening announcement.

The Big Sky Conference’s policy permits teams to still practice although all such practices will be closed to the public, if they occur.

SUU’s aim, per a statement from the athletic department, is to ensure the safety of the SUU community, the Cedar City community and all student-athletes on campus.

This also entails Weber State University as they are a member of the Big Sky Conference as well. Weber State’s athletic department Web site, www.weberstatesports.com, was not as descriptive as suutbirds.com.
