(St. George, UT) – More than a dozen people are celebrating being new U.S. citizens while the rest of southern Utah is celebrating history. People from at least ten different countries took the citizenship oath yesterday at the federal courthouse in St. George, the first-time ever a ceremony of this type has been held in this part of the state. Prior to yesterday, anyone living in southern Utah who was set to take the oath had to travel to Salt Lake City to take part in the ceremony. Some of those who took part yesterday said while they had lived in the country for many years, they now feel they’re officially part of the country.Â
