SALT LAKE CITY-University of Utah head men’s basketball coach Craig Smith, per information released late Tuesday, added former Cincinnati Bearcat power forward Gabe Madsen.

The 6-5 190-pound Madsen, who has three seasons of eligibility remaining, averaged 1.5 points and 1 rebound in two games for Cincinnati last season.

The native of Rochester, Minn. was a three-star prospect coming out of high school per 247sports.com.

He starred at Mayo Senior High School of Rochester, leading the Spartans to the Minnesota Section One Class 4-A Championships game in 2019-20.
