(Riverton, UT) – The mother of a Utah man who’s been imprisoned in Venezuela for nearly a year is still working with federal officials to get him released. Laurie Holt spent much of the last week in Washington, DC talking to officials at locations that included the White House. Holt was able to get a meeting at the Venezuelan embassy, where an official urged her to let the judicial process play out. The Riverton woman says her son Josh is being used by the Venezuelan government to try to earn political concession from the U.S.Â
