EPA: SLC, Provo Air Quality Failure “Serious”

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The EPA finds the Salt Lake City and Provo metro areas are out of compliance with air quality standards, labeling them “serious” non attainment areas. The designation means the areas failed a 2015 deadline for complying with federal standards for small particulate pollution. State air quality officials say they’re developing plans and still working at strategies to address the issue.
