3-A Playoffs First Round
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Brett Rasmussen led the way with 19 points and the Emery Spartans stonewalled Delta 64-50 Tuesday in the first round of the 3-A playoffs. Austin Topham had 21 points for the Rabbits in the loss. Emery next faces No. 1 seed Grantsville Friday at 7:00 pm in the second round.
KAMAS, Utah-The South Summit Wildcats gashed Providence Hall 50-43 in the first round of the 3-A playoffs Tuesday. Aaron Thueson had 12 points for the Patriots in the loss. South Summit next faces No. 2 seed Juab Friday at 7:00 pm in the second round.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-The American Leadership Eagles routed Maeser Prep 46-27 Tuesday in the first round of the 3-A playoffs. The Eagles next face No. 3 seed Manti in the second round Friday.
2-A Playoffs First Round
SALINA, Utah-Ethan Fielding posted 20 points and Marshall Okerlund added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists as the North Sevier Wolves surged past Rockwell 69-54 Tuesday in the first round of the 2-A playoffs. Zackary Tate and Kolby Henderson had 10 points apiece for the Marshals in the loss, ending their season at 9-12.
The Wolves, who improved to 7-14 with the win, next face No. 1 seed Beaver Friday at 7:00 pm at Beaver High School in the second round of the 2-A playoffs.
AMERICAN FORK, Utah-The American Heritage Patriots routed Merit 90-34 in the first round of the 2- A playoffs Tuesday. American Heritage next faces No. 4 Enterprise Friday at 7:00 pm in the second round.
ALTAMONT, Utah-Cordale Taylor amassed 30 points and the Altamont Longhorns smacked St. Joseph 77-37 in the first round of the 2-A playoffs Tuesday. C.J. Kierejewski led the way for the Jayhawks in defeat with 16 points. The Longhorns next visit No.5 North Summit Friday at 7:00 pm in the second round.
FILLMORE, Utah-Hunter Rhodes led the way with 22 points as the Millard Eagles pummeled Utah Military-Camp Williams 89-63 Tuesday in the first round of the 2-A playoffs. Grant Pendleton’s game-high 34 points led the Marauders in defeat. Millard visits No.2 Layton Christian Friday at 7:00 pm in the second round.
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah-Natarius Smith stepped up with 31 points as the Utah Military Hillfield-Thunderbirds outgunned APA West Valley 72-68 in the first round of the 2-A playoffs Tuesday. Wade Hymas led the Eagles in defeat with 21 points. The Thunderbirds visit No. 3 seed Parowan Friday at 7:00 pm.
SALT LAKE CITY-Galib Ibrahima keyed a balanced scoring attack with 11 points as the Rowland Hall-St. Mark’s Winged Lions hammered Freedom Prep 69-13 Tuesday in the first round of the 2-A playoffs. Ezra Ehan had 8 points for the Eagles in defeat. Rowland Hall faces No. 6 seed Draper APA Friday at 7:00 pm.
