Boys Basketball
Region 12
RICHFIELD, Utah-Brayden Staples led the way with 19 points and the South Sevier Rams got past Richfield 59-53 in Region 12 boys basketball action Friday. Dallin Stewart’s 14 points led the Wildcats in defeat.
Region 14
MANTI, Utah-Austin Cox posted 20 points and the Manti Templars secured second place in Region 14 with a 70-53 rout of Delta Friday as Manti celebrated Senior Night.
Cox was one of six Templars seniors to be honored. The others included Trace Boggess, Braden Boggess, Tate Quarnberg, Tanner Justesen and Grady Thompson.
Austin Topham had 20 points and 9 rebounds on 9-16 in defeat for the Rabbits, who conclude the regular season with a record of 4-14 (3-8 in Region 14 play).
Manti concludes the regular season with a record of 16-5 and 10-2 in Region 14 play.
The Utah High School Activities Association seeds will be released Saturday at 9:30 am for 2-A and 3-A boys and girls basketball.
The first round of state playoff games commence Tuesday for the boys and Wednesday for the girls.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Dawson Olsen stepped up with 17 points and the Juab Wasps drilled ALA 53-39 Friday in Region 14 boys basketball action. Bryant Farr had 9 points in the loss for the Eagles.
Region 18
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Tyler Hiatt led the way with 20 points and the Enterprise Wolves waxed Beaver 52-37 in Region 18 boys basketball action Friday. Ky Brown’s 16 points led the Beavers in defeat.
FILLMORE, Utah-Krue Stubbs and Easton Jense had 15 points apiece and the Parowan Rams dismantled Millard 63-31 in Region 18 boys basketball action Friday.
Girls Basketball
Region 20
TROPIC, Utah-Brooklyn Syrett posted 19 points and the Bryce Valley Mustangs humbled Escalante 40-32 in Region 20 girls basketball action Friday. Mikki Prows had 10 points in defeat for the Moquis.
PANGUITCH, Utah-Hanna Williams and AnDee VanDyke had 16 points apiece and the Wayne Badgers pummeled Panguitch 52-39 Friday in Region 20 girls basketball action. Kyan Orton had 12 points in defeat for the Bobcats.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Esther Cox amassed 26 points and the Valley Buffaloes pounded Water Canyon 61-30 in Region 20 girls basketball action Friday. Melissa Jessop had 21 points for the Wildcats in defeat.
