(Salt Lake City, UT) – Governor Gary Herbert hopes Utahns took time yesterday to remember those who gave their lives while serving in the military. The governor spoke as part of a Memorial Day event at the Salt Lake Veterans Home yesterday and said afterward that the day should be more than the kick-off of the summer. Veterans who attended the ceremony were given a rose, while others held small American flags as a reminder of the purpose of the event. Herbert says he’s actively working with members of Congress to build two new veterans homes in Utah.Â
