The sale of a portion of 100 East in Manti is complete, and the LDS Church is now the owner of record of the property. Several administrations in Manti had discussed selling the road since it was closed at the request of the Utah Department of Transportation in 2007 for safety reasons. The LDS Church was the owner of all property adjacent to the road and made an offer to the City of $160,000, twice the appraised value. After two public hearings, one in November 2016 and one in January 2017, the City accepted the offer, directing the proceeds of the sale to the new sports complex being built north of the cemetery.
