LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Northern Utah ski resorts are preparing for a season in the age of the coronavirus pandemic. Beaver Mountain is reducing the number of people allowed in lodges and encouraging people to change in their cars instead. They’re also adding food trucks, a rental tent and additional seating. So-called ghost lanes will be incorporated to ensure social distancing measures while skiers and snowboards wait in line for the lift. Meanwhile avalanche forecasters are also bracing for a larger number of skiers venturing into the backcountry, where they will have a natural social distance from others but also be potentially more venerable to the elements.
