A Salina man passed away after being shot on June 25.

The Salina City Police and EMTs were sent to the home of James D. Crane, 36, after receiving a report of a man who was shot with a gun. Police and medical personnel attempted to give Crane first aid. According to the Salina City Police Chief, Eric Pratt, Crane “Was beyond help and passed away at the scene.”

Pratt said the investigation into Crane’s death is ongoing but initial findings indicate the wound was self-inflicted.
