On Nov. 7, Richfield City Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the canal near Technology Drive on the south end of Richfield.

According to reports, authorities believe the individual driving the Mazda passenger car was traveling northbound on Technology Drive just north of the Rotary park. The individual was driving to fast to make a turn causing the vehicle to travel over the embankment and into the canal.

The individual involved in the crash left the scene without reporting the incident. Officers found footprints leaving the scene of the crash, and they are still investigating, trying to find the individual involved in the crash.
