The First Wave of UHSAA Power Rankings Released

MIDVALE, Utah-Thursday, the Utah High School Activities Association released the first wave of power rankings for the fall season.

In 1-A baseball, the Valley Buffaloes, sporting a record of 12-2, are currently in first place in the standings.

They are followed by No. 2 Piute (10-2), No. 3 Wayne (9-4), No. 4 Wendover (5-0), No. 5 Panguitch (9-4), No. 6 Diamond Ranch (7-6), No. 7 Tabiona (3-4), No. 8 Intermountain Christian (4-5), No. 9 Bryce Valley (6-6) and No. 10 Manila (3-4).

The 2- A girls soccer RPI features RSL Academy clinging to the top spot. The Griffins are 3-3 but have bested Class 6-A schools Herriman and Bingham as well as Class 4-A squad Tooele and are currently on a 3-match winning streak.

7-1 Parowan is No. 2 in the RPI, followed by No. 3 Rowland Hall (2-2), No. 4 Waterford (2-1), No. 5 Millard (5-3), No. 6 St. Joseph (3-1), No. 7 Beaver, (2-1), No. 8 American Heritage (0-3), No. 9 Gunnison Valley (2-3) and No. 10 Utah Military-Hillfield (0-2).

In 3-A girls soccer, Morgan is No. 1 in the RPI as the Trojans have started the season 6-0. Thus far, Morgan has bested Class 5-A Box Elder, Class 4-A Bear River and Class 6-A Cyprus as well as fellow 3-A foes Manti and Juab and Class 2-A power Rowland Hall.

They are followed by No. 2 Manti (6-1; 3-0 in Region 14 play), No. 3 Judge Memorial (4-2; 1-0 in Region 13 play), No. 4 Juab (5-2; 3-0 in Region 14 play), No. 5 Carbon (4-2; 1-0 in Region 12 play), No. 6 Delta (4-4; 2-2 in Region 14 play), No. 7 Richfield (3-4, 1-0 in Region 12 play), No. 8 San Juan (2-2; 0-1 in Region 12 play), No. 9 Grantsville (4-2) and No. 10 North Sanpete (3-4; 1-2 in Region 14 play).
