One man is dead after a semi-tractor struck him while he was helping someone else on the side of the road.

The accident happened Monday in Millard County along Highway 50 at about milepost 98.

Carl Thomas Demolen of Fillmore had gone to assist a driver who had an equipment malfunction. While helping the driver, a semi-tractor was driving by and struck Demolen who was in the roadway.

Demolen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is being investigated by the Highway Patrol and State Medical examiner’s Office.
