The Salina Police force will continue in the city following a public hearing on Wednesday.

After the police chief resigned earlier this year, the city debated merging or dissolving the Police Department to the Sevier County Sheriffs Office.

According to Mayor Dustin Deaton, the public spoke unanimously in favor of keeping the local department intact.

The Mayor also mentioned there may be some changes in the future to avoid overworking their police force.
