On July 24, just after 4:00 p.m., two individuals were riding an ATV north of Tropic Reservoir in Garfield County when the driver, a 32 year old male, lost control of the ATV and hit a tree.

The male driver died at the scene, the passenger, a 32 year old female, was air lifted from the scene and taken to Dixie Regional Medical in St. George in critical condition.

Deputy Pierson with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office stated that the names of the individuals will be withheld at this time, but that both individuals resided in Las Vegas, Nevada.
