SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say two people died after a small plane crashed in a rugged area in the Utah mountains. Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the crash occurred Friday morning in the Box Elder Peak area in American Fork Canyon southeast of Salt Lake City. He says investigators are trying to confirm that there were two other passengers aboard the plane. Authorities don’t know yet what type of plane it was or where it came from or where it was going. The cause of the crash is also unknown.
