Donald Trump Pushes Social Distancing Guidelines Through April 30

WASHINGTON-During a Sunday White House briefing, United States president Donald Trump confirmed the social distancing guidelines set forth by earlier this month would be extended through April 30.

This is a change from Trump’s previous remarks as at prior briefings, he had earmarked Easter Sunday, April 12, as a day that this could possibly happen.

Trump said the cause for this change was to avert what could be a potentially tremendous death toll.

Based on the records and models kept by scientists on the coronavirus task force, this could possibly have caused 2.2 million deaths.

Trump says the goal is to hold the numbers below 100,000 deaths if at all possible.

Trump also lacks the power to reopen the country as all 50 states have their governors make such decisions on a state-by-state basis.

This is a key fact to remember as this next social distancing period commences.

In Utah, Governor Gary Herbert  will address Beehive State media with daily briefings commencing Monday and running through April 13 before Utah reassesses its situation during the soft closure.
