Utah Athletics Programs To Suspend Practices Indefinitely Amid Coronavirus Concerns

SALT LAKE CITY-In alignment with its fellow Pac-12 member institutions, the University of Utah will suspend all practices and organized athletic periods for an indefinite period of time.

Per a statement from the athletic department, this is deemed to be in the best interests of the health of student-athletes, coaches and staff in hopes of preventing the spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus.

More information can be found on the university’s official COVID-19 Web site: https://dps.utah.edu/coronavirus/.

Utah football spring practices will not resume as planned following this week’s spring break.

The most important priority of Utah Athletics is to safeguard the health and well-being of student-athletes, coaches, staff, fans and media, per statements from director of athletics Mark Harlan.
