An Elsinore man is facing seven charges after he stole a car out of Richfield on Christmas Eve.
Mckay Adams took off with the car, unaware that the car’s owner still had her cell phone in it. Police and the owner were able to use the GPS tracking in the phone to track it to Elsinore before Adams smashed the phone.
An officer in Elsinore saw the car as it was pulling out of a driveway and gave chase up a dirt road.
After the axle broke on the car, Adams took off on foot and was later found and arrested by police.
Adams is being held on $40,000 cash-only bond. He’s also facing multiple charges including reckless driving, evading arrest, DUI, drug possession, possession of methamphetamine, theft, and driving under suspension.
