Dixie State Men’s Basketball Bests Colorado Mesa Friday

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Jack Pagenkopf netted 21 points and 6 assists on 5-8 behind the arc as the No. 23 Dixie State Trailblazers got past Colorado Mesa 74-68 Friday in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men’s basketball action at Burns Arena.

Hunter Schofield added 17 points and 5 rebounds on 8-11 from the field for the Trailblazers, who improved to 15-3 and 10-2 in RMAC play.

Dixie State built a 41-32 lead at the half while shooting 54.5 percent from the field for the first 20 minutes of the game. Overall, head coach Jon Judkins’ squad shot 50 percent (31-62) from the field for the game.

Jared Small posted 17 points on 6-10 from the field for the Mavericks, who fell to 12-6 and 8-4 in RMAC play.

Dixie State returns to action Saturday at 7:30 pm against the Western Colorado Mountaineers.
