Due to the action of the Sanpete County Commission before the end of 2017, the county will save a significant amount of money over the next 17 years. By refinancing and changing the financial structure of bonds used to construct the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Complex, the county is looking at a savings of $850,000. All three of the bond obligations authorized in 2007 and 2008 had reached the date when they could be called in, and by reauthorizing the bonds at lower interest rates, not only will the county save money, but an amortization chart shows one of the bonds will be paid off three years earlier.
The Sheriff’s Complex, located south of Manti, houses the county jail and the Sheriff’s Office, as well as the offices of the Utah Highway Patrol and the Utah Division of Adult Probation and Parole.
