1-A Preview
RICHFIELD, Utah-Ryker Hatch posted 18 points and 10 rebounds on 8-12 from the field and Klyn Fullmer added 17 points and 11 rebounds on 8-11 from the field as the Panguitch Bobcats bested Tintic 61-49 Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center at the 1-A preview. The Bobcats improved to 5-2 on the season with the win. Braydn Carter had 12 points on 4-7 from the field for the Miners in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Zach Sherwood’s 15 points and 13 rebounds on 7-14 from the field led the way as the Milford Tigers overpowered Telos 51-42 Saturday at the 1-A preview at the Sevier Valley Center. John Pollock had 12 points for the Titans in the loss. Milford improved to 2-3 with the win.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Braige Jacobson posted 13 points and 8 rebounds as the Wayne Badgers smacked Whitehorse 41-23 Saturday during the 1-A boys basketball preview at the Sevier Valley Center. The Badgers improved to 2-4 with the win. Rashawn Nocki and D’Wanye Nakai had 6 points apiece in the loss for the Raiders.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Wesley Jensen netted 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists on 6-7 from the field and the Piute Thunderbirds clobbered Rich 74-27 Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center during the 1-A boys basketball preview. Piute shot 52.7 percent for the game in improving to 5-2 on the season. Kyler Wilson had 12 points in the loss for the Rebels, as they fell to 0-3.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Sergio Vasquez netted 18 points on 7-10 from the field, along with four assists and three rebounds as the Bryce Valley Mustangs smacked Tabiona 73-47 at the Sevier Valley Center during the 1-A boys basketball preview. Bryce Valley improved to 3-3 on the season. Kolton Iverson had 11 points in the loss for the Tigers, as they fell to 2-5.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Jaime Montalvo hit a clutch 3-pointer in the closing seconds of overtime as he posted 28 points and 9 rebounds on 9-18 from the field as the Wendover Wildcats outlasted Valley 84-83 Saturday during the 1-A boys basketball preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Peter Alvarez added 21 points and 9 assists in the win for the Wildcats, who improved to 5-1 on the season. Braden Heaton (16 points, 7 rebounds, 6-11 shooting) had a chance to tie the game at 84-84 after Montalvo’s 3-pointer but missed the first of two free throws to help Wendover escape. A subsequent steal by Jaison Mendoza sealed the win for the Wildcats as time expired. Gavin Hoyt had 29 points and 7 rebounds on 8-15 from the field for the Buffaloes and Conner Chamberlain added 22 points and 5 rebounds on 6-11 from the field in the loss for Valley, dropping them to 5-2.
Bulldog Invitational
MESQUITE, Nev.-Cade Szymanski had 14 points as the Kanab Cowboys edged Enterprise 46-43 at the Bulldog Invitational Saturday at Virgin Valley High School. Levi Randall’s 13 points led the Wolves in defeat.
Non-Region
SALT LAKE CITY-Richie Saunders led the way with 24 points and the Wasatch Academy Tigers pounded Judge 115-58 in non-region boys basketball action Saturday. Makaiah Tarver had 24 points in defeat for the Bulldogs.
Girls Basketball
Buffalo Shootout
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Esther Cox stepped up with 24 points as the Valley Buffaloes edged Monument Valley 63-60 Saturday at the Buffalo Shootout. Tanisha Cowboy had 19 points for the Cougars in the loss.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Abby Stevens led the way in the win with 18 points as the Wayne Badgers stymied Parowan 45-36 at the Buffalo Shootout Saturday.
Bulldog Invitational
MESQUITE, Nev.-Grayce Glover led the way with 27 points as Kanab waxed the Moapa Valley (Nev.) Pirates 48-39 Saturday at the Bulldog Invitational at Virgin Valley High School.
Delta Tournament
DELTA, Utah-Reagan Sanders netted 22 points as the South Summit Wildcats edged Delta 49-48 at the Delta Tournament Saturday at the Palladium. Logan Springer’s 14 points paced the Rabbits in defeat.
Non-Region
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Erin Robinson’s 11 points led the Canyon View Falcons to a 39-38 win over Bryce Valley in non-region girls basketball action Saturday. Brooklyn Syrett’s game-high 17 points paced the Mustangs in the loss.
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Ellie Wilson amassed 14 points and the Pine View Panthers walloped North Sanpete 68-18 Saturday in non-region girls basketball action. Sarah Oldroyd had 10 points in the loss for the Hawks.
