A man from Holladay drowned early Sunday morning in the Millard County hot springs located about five miles west of Meadow.

According to Millard County sheriff’s Lt. Rob Clark, Joseph MacGregor, age 33, was swimming with a group of family and friends at about 4:00 a.m.

Two witnesses saw MacGregor go under the surface and called 911 after he did not reappear after about two minutes.

A diver was called in to search the pool and found MacGregor’s body underneath an underwater rock ledge. Authorities believe he may have been caught under the ledge.
