LOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State athletics announced its six-member intercollegiate athletics Hall of Fame class for 2020.
This class consists of Czech national All-American women’s volleyball player Zuzana Cernianska (2002-2005), men’s basketball standouts, Eric Franson (1991; 1994-1996) and Kendall Youngblood (1989-1992), football stars offensive lineman Donald Penn (2002-2005) and kick returner Kevin Robinson (2004-2007) and wrestler Russ Paulsen (1972-1975).
Franson was a three-time all-Big West Conference selection and posted 18.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting 56.9 percent from the field during his junior season (1995).
Youngblood was the Big West Conference freshman of the year in 1989 and was a three-time All-Big West selection for the Aggies. He amassed 1,749 career points, ranking him 7th all-time in conference annals.
Penn is best known for making 44 consecutive starts for the Aggies. After signing as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings, he later caught on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2007-2013), Oakland Raiders (2014-2018) and Washington Redskins (2019-present).
From 2006-2017, Penn, who is currently a left tackle, made 170 consecutive starts. He has started 184 games in his career and has caught four touchdown passes on six receptions. This ties him for the most career touchdowns in NFL history for an offensive lineman.
Robinson is currently Utah State’s all-time leader in receptions (178) and in combined kick/punt returns for touchdowns (8).
He was a 2008 sixth round draft choice of the Kansas City Chiefs. In his sole season with the Chiefs, he amassed 514 combined kick and punt return yards, averaging 22.1 yards per kickoff return.
The Fresno, Calif. native also spent time with the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2009.
The ceremony is slated for April 10, 2020 at the Riverwoods Conference Center of Logan. These inductees join a class of 115 individuals and three teams.
