Juab 8 x 8 Invitational

NEPHI, Utah-Tuesday, numerous Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network athletes and schools competed at the Juab 8 x 8 Invitational at Juab High School.

For the boys, Class 4-A Salem Hills took the team title with 198 points. Juab was second with 107 points, Manti placed fourth with 64 points, Richfield finished fifth with 59.5 points, Delta placed eighth with 11 points and Beaver finished ninth with 9.5 points.

Salem Hills’ girls also took the team title with 153 points with Juab placing second, netting 108.5 points. Richfield was fourth with 79 points, Manti was fifth with 53.5 points and Delta placed seventh with 24 points.

Richfield’s girls won the medley title (4:42.64). This team consisted of Sadie Yardley, Brianna Davis-Mitchell, Passion Reitz and Annalee Thompson. Juab placed third in the event.

Manti’s Trevor Robinson won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles crown (15.74 seconds) and Juab’s Ronnie Walker took the 100-meter dash title (12.52 seconds) for the girls. Walker also won the 200-meter dash crown (26.34 seconds) for the Wasps. For good measure, Walker took the girls’ long jump crown (17-02.25 feet) as well.

Maura Williams of Juab took the girls’ 1600-meter run title (5:47.48) and Hayden Harward of Richfield won the boys’ 1600-meter run crown (4:44.20). Harward also won the boys’ 800-meter run title (1:58.59).

Juab’s girls won the 4 x 100 relay title (51.31 seconds). This team features Willow Kay, Jakell Oliver, Bayli Heap and Ronnie Walker.

The Juab boys also won the 4 x 100 relay crown (45.34 seconds). The Wasps’ team consisted of Dallan West, Alton McFarland, Bodee Blackett and Brigham Perry.

Richfield’s Kade Jensen won the boys’ 400-meter dash title (51.64 seconds) and Melissa Crane won the girls’ 300-meter hurdles crown (48.46 seconds) for the Wildcats.

Paityn Callister of Delta won the girls’ discus title (101-05) and Valerie Clark of Juab took the girls’ javelin crown (126-05).

Zac Cowan of Juab took the boys’ javelin title (171-11) to conclude the meet.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Tuesday, at Wasatch High School, Manti’s underclassmen track and field athletes competed at the 2019 Underclassmen Invitational.

The Wasatch boys and girls swept the team titles with the Wasps’ boys netting 187.5 points and the Wasatch girls netting 147.5 points.

The Manti boys placed fifth with 40 points and the Templars’ girls placed fourth, netting 41 points.

Bethany Christensen placed sixth (15:02.20) in the girls’ 3200 meter run and Ben Johnson placed third (11:41.41) in the boys’ 3200-meter run.
