2 Utah men arrested for vandalizing LDS Church building

SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) — Authorities arrested two Utah men for their role in causing more than $5,000 of damages to a meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Daily Herald reports Kevin Jay Hayes and Thomas Tristian Anderson, both of Spanish Fork, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree felony criminal mischief and third-degree felony burglary.

No attorneys were immediately listed for the men in court.

Police last week obtained a Snapchat video showing Hayes using an expletive while boasting about the damage to Anderson.

Spanish Fork police responded to a fire alarm Aug. 27 at the meetinghouse.

Anderson also was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor counts of use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana or spice.

Hayes also was arrested on a warrant for class A misdemeanor endangerment of a child or elder adult.
