CEDAR CITY, Utah-Late Tuesday, Southern Utah University’s athletic department announced the hiring of a new director of marketing and fan engagement.
Andrew Sproul, who was most recently the marketing coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
While with the Blazers’ athletic department, his primary duties consisted of the creation and implementation of marketing plans and executing game-day responsibilities for women’s soccer, beach volleyball and the school’s various Olympic sports.
He was able to increase attendance for the Blazers’ women’s soccer games by 35 percent in 2017.
Other responsibilities he had included group ticket sales for select sports and oversaw the interaction with the Blazers’ IMG corporate sponsorship program.
Prior to going to UAB, Sproul was at Utah State as the lead marketing intern for the Aggies’ athletic department.
While at USU, he helped increase attendance for women’s basketball by 47 percent.
In the summer of 2016, Sproul served as the promotions/operations intern for the Orem Owlz. His primary tasks consisted of video production and music direction.
A Logan native, Sproul graduated from Utah State with a bachelor’s of science in marketing.
