(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has filed a lawsuit against the Open Stories Foundation over its “Mormon Stories” podcast, alleging trademark and copyright violations. The Church claims the use of the word “Mormon,” along with similar branding and design elements, could confuse the public into thinking the podcast is officially affiliated. The suit also names podcast creator John P. Dehlin. He disputes the claims, saying he has used the name for more than 20 years and has made changes to address concerns. Dehlin also argues the podcast clearly states it is not affiliated with the Church.
