Two Dead, One In Critical Condition After Crash In Juab County

Around 6:15 p.m. on Apr. 2, authorities responded to a crash on the Weiss Highway. According to a press release from the Juab County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation revealed that a Chevy Silverado pick up truck was traveling at a high rate of speed, ran off the road and lost control rolling multiple times. There were three individuals in the truck, all juveniles from the Riverton area, none of whom were wearing seat belts. All three were ejected from the vehicle. A 15-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene, a 17-year-old female was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital. Another 15-year-old male remains in critical condition at the Primary Children’s Hospital. The cause of the crash is still under investigation but according to the press release, “the primary contributing factors are related to high speed travel and disuse of occupant restraints.”
