On Mar. 21, crews from Sevier and Sanpete Counties were dispatched to a fire along the Sevier River north of Redmond. According to a post on the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, “the fire started from a controlled burn that had been believed to have been out earlier in the day, but the wind picked up and fanned the remnants of the earlier burn.” SR 256 was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The fire burned about 100 acres, no structures were threatened and no injuries or loss of property occurred.
