(Salt Lake City, UT) — On the second-to-last day of the legislative session, state lawmakers voted to raise the governor’s salary. The governor will now make just under 198-thousand dollars. District judges will make just under 225-thousand dollars. Also, the legislature voted to extend maternity leave for state employees. If the governor signs that bill, it will go from three weeks to six. It also lets state employee take a leave if they adopt a child six years old or younger.
