CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.-Tuesday, a pair of Utah Valley University women’s golfers were named as Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American scholars.
Junior Carly Dehlin and freshman Bailey Henley earned this honor.
This commemorates the third consecutive season that Dehlin, a former Alta High star, has received this honor.
Dehlin, who also earned second-team All-WAC honors, led the team academically with a 3.80 GPA. Henley was close behind with a 3.70 GPA.
To be eligible for this award, athletes must have a greater GPA than 3.50 and participate in 50 percent of the season’s competitions.
Dehlin graduated this past May with a degree in communications and recorded the second-best scoring average in program history with a 74.80 clip.
She is also one of only four golfers in school history to win a tournament, earning a share of individual medalist honors at the Grand Canyon Spring Invitational with a 3-over-par 219 and four top-10 finishes on the season in all.
Henley’s freshman season at UVU was strong, playing in seven tournaments and 20 rounds. She carded a season-low 73 twice on the year, concluding her freshman campaign with a top 25 finish at the 2018 WAC championships by finishing 25th with a 16-over 229. Henley recorded a 79.10 scoring average on the season.
