(Salt Lake City, UT) — A total of 19 athletes with ties to Utah took home medals in the Olympic games that wrapped up yesterday in Italy. In team events, Utah athletes had a part in three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. An all-Utah team took home gold in mixed freeski aerials. They also took home criticism from home-state Senator Mike Lee. One member of the team, Chris Lillis, said Americans should respect human rights. Lee said Lillis should have stayed home. Hilary Knight became the most decorated American Olympic hockey player ever when she won her fifth medal. That was when the U.S. beat Canada for gold.
