CEDAR CITY, Utah-Dresden Jensen netted 23 points and 7 rebounds on 10/15 from the floor and the No. 12 Grantsville Cowboys upset No. 4 Emery 79-75 in overtime Thursday at the America First Event Center on the campus of Southern Utah University. Brek Griffin’s 30 points and 6 rebounds led the Spartans in the loss. Grantsville next faces No. 1 Morgan Friday at 7:30 pm in the state semifinals at Southern Utah University. Emery will play No. 8 Canyon View Friday at 12:50 pm in the consolation bracket at the America First Event Center.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Bracken Saunders posted 20 points and 6 rebounds on 8/15 from the floor and the No. 1 Morgan Trojans routed No. 8 Canyon View 67-43 at the America First Event Center Thursday. Jeter Sanders netted 16 points and 5 rebounds in defeat for the Falcons.

Jackson Maw’s 14 points led the Tigers in the loss. Richfield next faces No. 3 American Heritage in the state semifinals Friday at 9:10 pm at the America First Event Center.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Zoe Rockenfield netted 21 points and the No. 6 Morgan Trojans upset No. 3 Emery 62-55 Thursday in the 3A state quarterfinals at the America First Event Center on the campus of Southern Utah University. Aleeyah Cowley’s 16 points and 5 rebounds on 6/10 from the floor led the Spartans in the loss. Morgan next faces No. 7 Grantsville Friday at 5:50 pm in the state semifinals.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Kamry Allen led the way with 13 points and the No. 7 Grantsville Lady Cowboys upset No. 2 North Sanpete 42-38 in the 3A state quaterfinals Thursday at the America First Event Center. Mariah Schlappi’s 16 points on 6/12 from the floor led the Hawks in the loss. North Sanpete plays Emery Friday at 9:30 am in the consolation bracket.

Madison Eliason’s 15 points and 10 rebounds led the Rabbits in the loss. Union next faces No. 5 Layton Christian Friday at 4:10 pm in the state semifinals. Delta next plays No. 4 Canyon View Friday at 11:10 am in the consolation bracket.

Torence Taylor’s 19 points and 7 rebounds led the Falcons in the loss. Layton Christian, trailing 31-24 at the half, outscored Canyon View 36-11 in the second half.
1A State First Round Playoffs
ALTAMONT, Utah-Allie Layton and Ollie Farr led the way with 9 points apiece and No. 14 Altamont routed No. 19 Pinnacle 49-23 in the first round of the 1A state playoffs. Altamont next visits No. 3 Tabiona Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
