1A State Playoffs First Round

HILDALE, Utah-Joann Barlow led the way with 22 points and the No. 16 Water Canyon Wildcats overpowered No. 17 Monticello 62-50 Wednesday in the first round of the 1A girls state basketball playoffs. Makenna Peterson led the Buckaroos in the loss with 15 points. The Wildcats next visit No. 1 Panguitch Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

TROPIC, Utah-Annabella Vasquez posted 14 points and the No. 15 Bryce Valley Mustangs routed No. 18 St. Joseph 47-23 in the first round of the 1A girls state basketball playoffs Wednesday. Sophia Evans led the Jayhawks in the loss with 13 points. Bryce Valley next visits No. 2 Wayne Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
