Region 20 Tournament 

BICKNELL, Utah-RJ Pau’u netted 21 points and the Wayne Badgers smoked Escalante 63-28 in the Region 20 Tournament Wednesday. Jaxen Cottam led the Moquis in the loss with 17 points.

JUNCTION, Utah-Brodee Montague led the way with 21 points and the Piute Thunderbirds hammered Water Canyon 81-53 Wednesday in the Region 20 Tournament. Dynote Blackmore led the Wildcats with 16 points in the loss.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Trenton Virga recorded 19 points and 15 rebounds and the Panguitch Bobcats edged Bryce Valley 49-46 in the Region 20 Tournament Wednesday.

2A State First Round Playoffs

GUNNISON, Utah-Rylee Bartholomew stepped up with 25 points and 10 rebounds and the No. 12 Gunnison Valley Bulldogs decimated No. 21 APA West Valley 63-19 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. Manamany Ocwor scored 7 points in the loss for the Eagles. The Bulldogs next visit No. 5 Draper APA Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs with a berth in the state tournament at Utah Valley University on the line.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah-Ruby Clegg and Ashtyn Arnout led the way with 10 points apiece and the No. 17 South Summit Wildcats drilled No. 16 Rockwell 51-21 Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state playoffs. Brinley Jenson led the Marshals in the loss with 7 points. South Summit next visits No. 1 Kanab Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

LINDON, Utah-Lillian Nolan netted 19 points and No. 13 Maeser overpowered No. 20 ALA 36-29 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. Preslee Orton led the Eagles in the loss with 8 points. Maeser next visits No. 4 North Summit in the second round of the state playoffs Saturday at 1:00 pm.

No. 14 Intermountain Christian 65 No. 19 Vanguard 31. The Lions next visit No. 3 Enterprise Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SANDY, Utah-Berklee Hasebi led the way with 20 points and the No. 12 Waterford Ravens bested No. 21 Freedom Prep 53-43 in the first round of the state playoffs Wednesday. Daniela Jimenez-Ferrari led the Eagles in the loss with 34 points. The Ravens next visit No. 5 Duchesne Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

AMERICAN FORK, Utah-Brinley Hall stepped up with 21 points and the No. 9 American Heritage Eagles clobbered No. 24 Rowland Hall 83-14 Wednesday in the first round of the state playoffs. Lila Bates led the Winged Lions in the loss with 6 points. American Heritage next visits No. 8 San Juan in the second round of the state playoffs Saturday at 1:00 pm.

SALINA, Utah-Megan Mecham posted 11 points and the No. 10 North Sevier Wolves pounded No. 23 Parowan 59-10 in the first round of the state playoffs Wednesday. Kailynn Shannon and Wylee Renzello scored 4 points apiece in the loss for the Rams. North Sevier next visits No. 7 Millard Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

MONROE, Utah-Tenley Brown netted 14 points and the No. 15 South Sevier Rams bested No. 18 Grand 45-34 Wednesday in the first round of the state playoffs. Chloe Byrd led the Red Devils in the loss with 13 points. The Rams next visit No. 2 Beaver in the second round of the state playoffs Saturday at 1:00 pm.
