HONOLULU-Tuesday, University of Utah football standouts, junior offensive lineman Spencer Fano and redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Caleb Lomu were named among the 10 finalists for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.
Fano, a native of Spanish Fork, Utah and a Timpview High School product and Lomu, a former Highland High School (Ariz.) product out of Gilbert, Ariz. are the only two Utah college football players to make the cut.
The list of finalists is as follows:
California senior receiver Jacob DeJesus (99 rec, 892 yards, 5 TD’s in 2025)
Arizona junior quarterback Noah Fifita (completing 64.2 percent of his passes, 2,963 yards, 26 TD’s/5 INT’s in 2025)
Penn State redshirt junior offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane
Oregon junior offensive lineman Iapani Laloulu
USC junior receiver Makai Lemon (79 rec, 1,156 yards, 11 TD’s in 2025)
USC junior quarterback Jayden Maiava (completing 66.2 percent of his passes for 3,431 yards, 23 TD’s/8 INT’s in 2025)
Miami (Fla.) junior offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa
California junior lineacker Cade Uluava (3 sacks, 6 passes defensed, 11.5 tackles for a loss in 2025).
The winner will be announced December 16.
