Monday, Southern Utah redshirt senior EDGE rusher Lando Brown was named as the United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week in the Thunderbirds’ 36-34 double-overtime win at North Alabama last Saturday.

This commemorates the sixth consecutive week SUU has been honored by the conference.

Brown posted two sacks and three tackles for a loss in the season-concluding victory over the Lions.

Brown, a native of Gardena, Calif., ends the season leading the nation in 1.27 sacks per game, while posting 14  net sacks overall this season for the Thunderbirds.
