AJ Dybantsa Named To Big 12 Starting Five Monday

IRVING, Texas-Monday, BYU freshman standout guard/forward AJ Dybantsa was named to the first Big 12 Starting Five of the season.

Dybantsa netted 19 points and 7 rebounds per game and shot 57 percent from the floor for the Cougars in wins over Villanova and Holy Cross this past weekend.

Also on this list for the Big 12 through the first weekend of play were:

Arizona freshman forward Koa Peat (24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists per game last week for the Wildcats in wins over Florida and Utah Tech)

Cincinnati senior center Baba Miller (21 points, 10.5 rebounds per game last week for the Bearcats in wins over Western Carolina and Georgia State)

Kansas freshman guard Darryn Peterson (21.5 points per game last week for the Jayhawks in a win over Green Bay and a loss to North Carolina)

Texas Tech sophomore guard Christian Anderson (26 points, 5.5 assists per game in the Red Raiders’ wins over Lindenwood and Sam Houston).

Dybantsa and his BYU teammates return to action Tuesday at  the Marriott Center against Delaware.
